ask-gimli asked: Lady you are to kind, out of dwarves there are more stouter than I, *cough* but enough of that. How fares the golden wood? I hear it is nice, even in this time of year, when the mountains are coldest.

Gimli, I have heard of your deeds and they are not to be spoken lightly of! But I shall give no more kind words on the subject if that is your wish.

The golden wood is always fair. It radiates with its own warmth, even as it grows cold in the other near and distant places of Middle Earth the Wood breathes of life and tranquility. If you desired, you could visit here, if only to stave off the cold of your mountains though from what I have heard a Dwarven Hearth may nearly be comparable to the Golden Wood.

ask-legolas-greenleaf asked: Indeed, it would be most pleasant to see you again. I know that everyone will be very excited to see you. :)

And I you. I grow lonely some long, cloudless nights and I wish to see those of my kin again. Many leave to the Undying Lands, it is not my time yet, and I desire to see all of those I hold dear before our Passing.

ask-legolas-greenleaf asked: Things are very well, currently I am in Rivendell visiting though. My father may be coming out as well. :)

I shall have to speak with my Lord Celeborn and Haldir, to see if either of them would care to make a small journey to Rivendell with me. I should love to see you and your father Thranduil King once again. Also to see Elrond and my grandsons Elladan and Elrohir would be wonderful. I have yet to visit the Lady Arwen in Gondor, I hear she is expecting, this news fares well on my heart.

ask-gimli asked: The hills are lined with precious gems abundant, but all pale in your beauty, if you dont mind me being so bold as to be saying so!

You flatter me master dwarf, you are much too kind. Though the jewels of the Earth shine in a beauty all their own.

It is quite bold of you, but thank you for your words, truly you are stouthearted and good Gimli of Durin’s Folk.

To those who do not speak the tongue of the Elves…

Would it be helpful to you if I added translations of my speech? It is a lovely language, and I would be most willing to help the eager to learn it.

ask-gimli asked: Fair lady of the wood! How fare thee?

Mae govannen, Gimli son of Gloin. I fare well this day, Lorien has never been more beautiful, though the slight disturbance in the air distresses me. I shall keep a watchful eye out. How fare you in your Mountain Halls?
